Author's Cornered

Local Author Christine Malone has had her short story, "Life Begins at Forty" chosen for a national anthology from Fygleaves Publishers, amusingly entitled "43 L-Plates". Christine is an active member of Morecambe Bay Writers, meeting fortnightly in the town Library. As a group they are already producing their second feast for the reader: "A Breath of Sea Air". Anyone who knows Morecambe promenade will agree the title is apt. "43 L-Plates" is available to order from October 13th. (ISBN 978-0953-6-4) "A Breath of Sea Air" is timed for after Christmas. Look out for excerpts from Morecambe Bay Writers in our new "Authors Cornered" section under Spotlight on Lancaster. We at lancaster4U wish the writers all success!

Lancaster Canal

The Lancaster canalThe Lancaster Canal has long been regarded as one of the most scenic in the country. It is also thought to be unique in that it does not have any locks along its 41 mile stretch between Tewitfield to the north and Preston in the south.
